During the regular season these teams were both very good at home but just average on the road. I expect that trend to continue today with an Islanders team that struggled down the stretch. The Penguins won six of eight games against the Islanders this season and they won all four games at home. Tristan Jarry is hot right now, while Semyon Varlamov has been iffy down the stretch. Friday's 4-3 loss was only the Angels’ third one-run loss of the season. We mention this because LA is 0-9 SU after it lost by one run, getting beat by an average of 5.44 runs per game. The Red Sox, on the other hand, are 7-0 in the second game of a series at home coming off a game as favorites in which they scored first, trailed and won -- and it is before the All-Star break. Boston has won these seven games by an average of 4.57 runs.

An important stretch to conclude the season continues Wednesday for the Portland Trail Blazers against the Utah Jazz. Currently in the fifth spot in the West, Portland needs to continue winning to hold off the Mavericks and Lakers.
